What Causes Hair Growth?
A fine growth of downy (vellus) hair is perfectly
normal. This only becomes the problem of superfluous hair when it coarsens through
one of several reasons; either because it has been removed by some mechanical
means such as tweezing, waxing, shaving or cream depilation, or because some slight
hormonal imbalance exists (as during puberty or menopause), or as a result of
certain types of hormone therapy. Some women with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome
may have superfluous hair. In any case, electrolysis can solve the problem.
