Why should I bother joining the BIAE? There are plenty of trade associations I can join without having to take an entrance assessment.
That is precisely why the public trust the BIAE when searching for an electrolysist. As we are a professional body rather than a trade association we don’t accept anyone just because they have a piece of paper saying they can perform electrolysis, we check for ourselves to provide peace of mind for the public. A recent survey of our members showed 85% of respondents are busy even throughout the tough economic slowdown. Because they are good at what they do, and because their clients trust them, their BIAE membership more than pays for itself. If you are serious about providing the very best treatment you can, and want to prove to your clients you are a cut above the rest then membership of the BIAE is the perfect solution.

But I don’t do just electrolysis, I do other treatments too.
So do lots of our members. Whether you are a full-time electrolysist or just do a few treatments a week the BIAE has plenty of other members in exactly the same situation as you.

What about insurance?
You can either keep your existing policy or choose our own cover for a huge range of treatments. (Minimum amount of experience required for electrolysis cover.) Details provided on application.

Whether you are employed or self-employed you are sure to find membership of the BIAE more than just another certificate to put on your wall. Membership for 1 year includes:

Don’t be scared, we’re not trying to catch you out! We just need to check you’ve been taught correctly, and if not then we’ll recommend what to do next. We know all too well that some colleges don’t prepare their students adequately, that’s why you can request a pre-assessment workshop first if you’d like one. We’re here to help you all the way, and once you’re ready all you need to do is come along to one of our assessment days to perform a few treatments for us. There’s also a multiple choice written assessment which again we’ll help you prepare for. It’s definitely in your best interests to join the BIAE to boost your career prospects or grow your business, plus potential clients will feel reassured if you are a BIAE member.

We’re a friendly, supportive organisation and we’d love to have you on board.
